Groove is in the heart Ah-ah-ah-ah (Ne-na-na-na-na) Groove is in the heart (Ne-na-na-na-na) Groove is in the heart (Ne-na-na-na-na) Groove is in the heart-ah-ah-ah
Groove is in the heart Ah-ah-ah-ah (yeah) Groove is in the heart Ah-ah-ah Groove is in the heart Groove is in the heart Ah-ah-ah ------ Okay, you probably didn't want the whole thing here :) But, remember...? I listened to it today and we were dancing in the car, Maggie and I, it just makes me start dancing, almost never fails. YEAH, groove is in the heart baby!! I know who my DJ Soul is...
You know, i love you all so much. i love that I have a nickname here, "Manu" :) It's what my friends in Argentina used to call me from pre-school to 6th grade!!
OK I had to narrow it down to what song is always most likely to drive me to dance. I have yet to hear it live, but it is definitely on my list.
In fact, one of my best memories of this song is dancing to it with Pam and Ché in some obscure club in Seattle about a year ago. I hope Ché doesn't hate me for ratting her out. ;-)
I have no ties to Alabama, per se...however I lived in Texas when this song was popular and I think the entire south claimed it. I was just a girl, but it will always be in my soul.
Hmm... right now, I have to go with Tran-Siberian Orchestra - "Wizards of Winter" and at the same time, the finale from Peter and the Wolf, which has got me going since I was 2 years old (and still does).
I LOVE TSO's Wizards of Winter. We saw them in concert two years ago, I would highly recommend it...they should be coming around some of you guys between now and the end of the year...they always tour Nov/Dec and they were just here. My FIL went for the first time, and he LOVED it.
And hey all, and esp. Tyler Dawn--thanks for the "Rahab's Kitchen Pick-Me Up Collection." What a great spot of sunshine for a grey, rainy Midwestern morning. :)
Did y'all see those funky shoes in the Dee Lite video? They were designed by my former employer John Fluevog and the group came in shopping one day when I was in the store.
This one always makes me laugh, and dancing like a crazy person while watching them live on stage is unbelievable! (mp3 or lyrics - warning: language).
Ruth ~ Heart has always been one of my absolute faves. Anne Wilson is one of only two vocalists whose voice I can literally feel all the way up my spine.
Erin, I'm with ya on the Sweet Home Alabama. That song makes me get up and dance EVERY time. There is also one my kids introduced me to...Numa Numa. Love that too...sorry, not enough of a techie to create a link for it....
I get stressed at questions like these :) I have to remind myself, "Just one song. You can have another 4 million that make you feel alive. Nominating one will not change that." I think it's a mental issue :)
Anyway, one - just one out of the 4 million - song that makes me feel alive is The Load Out/Stay by Jackson Browne :)
I rather think that the kitchen of an innkeeper wrongfully accused by history of being a harlot would be a safe place to lay down my burdens and sorrows. I believe she would have a willing and patient ear, a compassionately forgiving heart, a nonjudgemental spirit, and the grace that can only come from enduring thousands of years of slander. I also think that, if I would like to talk to anyone about Jesus, it would be this grandma more than any other person in history.

okay. i've got one.
Wow I'll have to think about it too. It depends on the day.

Sweet Home Alabama

Manuela, I love that song.. you are sure right about it getting us to dance... same with dancing queen..
I currently like (and I havn't listned to normal music in yeeeaars) it has always been christian music but now I am listening to the radio..
Katy Perry with Hot n cold...
The ting tings - that's not my name..
THose songs generally get my feet tapping and before you know it, I am nodding my head and off I gooooooooo........
Manu ~ That's a great song and a total bizarre video to go with it. Check out the video.
Now as far as my choice...hmm
First I thought of this
Then I though of this
but in the end, Robert Palmer was the winner.
Hmm... right now, I have to go with Tran-Siberian Orchestra - "Wizards of Winter" and at the same time, the finale from Peter and the Wolf, which has got me going since I was 2 years old (and still does).

Capercaille's Coisich A Ruin
We're all Celtic folk music junkies in this household. :)
And hey all, and esp. Tyler Dawn--thanks for the "Rahab's Kitchen Pick-Me Up Collection." What a great spot of sunshine for a grey, rainy Midwestern morning. :)
YW, Sara lol. I figure if we were all in a room together we would talk about more than just concerns, it's fun to talk about silly stuff too.
Speaking of which, a few of those vids gave me a psychadelic headache rofl
OH NO, the Robert Palmer girls are trying to make Mark "one of them" I love that commercial.
Sweet Home Alabama gets me on the dance floor too anytime!
What song makes me feel alive? Here's mine
Did y'all see those funky shoes in the Dee Lite video? They were designed by my former employer John Fluevog and the group came in shopping one day when I was in the store.
Jon - your video "is not available in my country" according to the u tube police.
This is one example.
For me there are lots of songs that fit this category....but today I will say "One" by U2
Sorry, that file is a .wma not an .mp3 - for those to whom the difference between file types matters :-)
I heart Heart.
And celtic music.
Erin, me, too. :-)
Erin, I'm with ya on the Sweet Home Alabama. That song makes me get up and dance EVERY time.
There is also one my kids introduced me to...Numa Numa.
Love that too...sorry, not enough of a techie to create a link for it....
Rock This Town!
Oh YEAH! Stray Cats!
Heather - I love that song! So where do I sign up? ;-)
Aretha!
I think you sign up by going out and dancing like a loon. Like I do :-D
The band is Jackson Jackson, and the album is The Fire Is On The Bird, if you're interested in buying it you can get it via their Myspace.
