The bad news is that Buddug, my favourite ferret, died last night.
The good news, for those who've been praying for me, is that I've found out that my job is safe, as someone else has taken voluntary redundancy.
Needless to say, I have rather mixed emotions at the moment.

Saturday/ Sunday briefs (updates?)
Hey everyone (... it's already Sunday in Australia)
I haven't been around an awful lot, but going through many blogs, I've noticed I'm not the only one...we've all got stuff on our plate... or is it that facebook is hijacking all the bloggers... damn them (JK)
so how is everyone...?

What's Been Happening
Hello Everyone.
I know that my appearances lately have been sparse; not only here but on line and in my own blog as well. Most of you who follow my blog have seen a "turn" in the direction of my writing and me questioning pretty much everything that I have come to know as true in the past year or so. So now, I can come out and tell you what has been happening.
This past week has seen two very "huge" changes in my life. The first is that I started a new job with a new department this week. Big change for me but the timing is perfect when taken into consideration of where I want to go with my career. Secondly, on last Tuesday, I was divorced from my wife. This has been a decision that I have been agonizing for the better part of a year and I finally came to the conclusion that enough was enough. The hardest part, as you might imagine, was my beautiful son and the thought of not being around him all of the time but in the end, it just wasn't enough. Our split was amicable and so were the arrangements that we agreed on with respect to custody and visitation and I am so thankful for that.
You all have been a great source of support for me and I am thankful that I have this family to share with when things are good and to lean on when things are bad. There are a few loose ends yet to tie up so if you feel so led, ask a prayer that what I have to do next (regarding our home) goes smoothly.

Boundaries (and update)
Hey all
Well, my brother has not returned to my house. I am so grateful for that :) Thank you for your prayers. (As a reminder, he has been coming and going and staying with me for the past six weeks, and it's really disorientated me about a million times more than I thought it was. It took a while to realise how disorientating I found it, partially because I wanted to help him and partially because I have, I have further discovered, this strange irrational sense of responsibility for him. This is because of the dynamics of our family - we are playing out the roles our parents taught us to - and because of sexual abuse issues as children).
I am in an uncomfortable period in my life where I am seeing more clearly the necessity for boundaries. Growing more able to say "no", because I know that is my true answer, and to sit with the discomfort that comes afterwards, the silly guilt, the feeling of "I am a bitch because I said no", which unfortunately so many women have to deal with.
It is a difficult thing to learn to become the person you are intended to be, is it not? I think Christianity has inadvertently taught us that denying ourselves means repressing our intuition, especially for women. It has inadvertently taught us that we are not able to hear God for ourselves, nor are we allowed to hear ourselves for ourselves because that is a sin. I am glad to see this dysfunction beginning to be displaced from within the Body.

Hey all
I posted a long post on my blog, bearing out half my soul (and story) and wanted to invite you to come read and leave your feeback, if and when you can...
my story
Thanx and love
--------------------------
Also, for those who haven't already gone and commented, please comment here instead.
This is a safer place for me right now. I shared what I was ready to there at this point. I had to delete a couple comments there for privacy reasons I can't get into right now (but I kept them all in my e-mail box). I REALLY appreciated every comment and was in no way offended by anything you wrote. In fact, I was really encouraged, and thankful to share and get your feeback! I should have just asked for you to comment here in the first place... sorry
Thanks again

Strange days Indeed
I should have written this about a week ago but that is the flu for you, it just leaves me braindead.
So I told you about the threat against Mark's job. Well, last sunday night I was just walking around minding my own business and I suddenly heard something from God (finally!).
It was a lie, they weren't going to fire him, they CAN'T.
So I told Mark about this and we started really praying and he felt a lot of peace. He went back to work confident and it totally drove his boss nuts! So anyway, thursday rolls around and Mark's corporate boss fesses up, out of nowhere, that they actually did not have the ability to fire him, they just wanted to -- well, manipulate him (he didn't say it like that of course, but that was the jist).
So the really awesome thing is that Mark has found two other out of church believers there who are praying blessings over the facility with him in the mornings and they are really seeing results. They are all department heads so this is really amazing.
And his boss is acting very strangely! Can't stand to be around my husband at all.
So anyway, thanks so much for holding us up in prayer, I really needed it. I am so grateful for all of you.

Update
Hi Everyone,
I'm using an update tag on this one because it serves two purposes.
First I am asking for your prayers. I can't go into detail but sometimes lately it seems like my entire world is coming unraveled and as such, it's really hard to keep my eye on God when all I want to do is forget about him sometimes.
Secondly, Tyler's game gave me a new idea for a label. Since board games are popular in most kitchens I know, I thought that was a good label for any games we might want to play.

Mom in Law
Hi all. Today I spent a couple hours with my mom in law, Judy. I watched HGTV with her, and painted her fingernails and toenails. Today she was able to choose her nail polish color instead of having to take whatever shade of pink I gave her. I think this was fun for her, a break from her routine. She even let me paint her toenails lavender! I asked her twice, just to be sure, and she was sure.
For those who may not know...the short version is had a benign brain tumor removed on May 29th. On may 30th she had a stroke, where she lost everything on her right side and the ability to speak or answer questions (basically like a newborn baby), only to whimper and cry. In the interim she has had nothing but problem after problem: a variety of infections, hydrocephalus, and seizures, and the inability to eat or drink much, which had her in and out of the hospital about every two weeks. She had a shunt put in on September 4th, and a gastro tube in mid September and has finally been improving ever since. She is a woman of God, a Pastor's daughter and a Pastor's sister and a Pastor's wife. She has served the Lord her entire life which is why this is so hard.
In the comments on my Anniversary post (thanks everyone!), Jon was asking how he could pray for her, so I'm going to share about that for anyone who may want some specifics.
One thing is she has atrophied so much from being bedridden since June that she still cannot stand or walk. So we would like to see her continue to regain strength so one day she may walk again. She was a petite woman to begin with, and these months have seen her fall below 100 lbs.
Another thing is that while she is speaking and answering questions often now, each word is still a struggle for her. We would like this to continue to improve, as well, and for it to be easier and easier for her to communicate.
Now that she has improved some, she needs visits and company now more than ever, because she is more alert and is able to make conversation. I would pray that her friends be even more willing to come spend time with her.
As well, because she is more aware, she has been breaking down crying more often as she is realizing more about her condition and about how long it's been -- and today I think it was because she is more aware of how much her husband has done for her in these months. I would pray she feels God near and he grants her peace and encourages her from the inside.
So there you have it. Thanks all in advance for your prayers. They are much appreciated.

update from nate

so nate called me the other day to say thank you for the prayers. they have been wonderful. but then he realized that as wonderful as the prayers for him are, he's not the one who needs it most. nate is the manager of a restaurant and he would like prayer for his crew. for his junior management staff mostly (who are very inexperienced) that they would gain wisdom and grow in their abilities to lead the rest of the staff and execute their responsibilities.
i would go so far as to say since we're praying, why don't we go the full 9? let's ask that the lives of all the staff be affected deeply. that the whole crew would grow into a tight knit community of people who care about their work and care about each other. that a spirit of love and joy would pervade the crew and they would begin to grow together. that they would all help to create something stable for one another in such unstable times.

Well, got it all figured out
Okay, so I went to the doctor and He said that what happened was a combination of a few things.
(1) I had an extreme reaction to Claritin 24, which is notorious for reacting badly with bp meds (despite no warning label!)
(2) I had bad allergies to ragweed for the first time in my life
(3) Evidently I have asthma, which has been triggered by living in a high humidity area for the first time in about 30 years. It is comforting to know that the chest tightness isn't my heart!
So I will live after all. Thanks to everyone for praying, don't know how i would have gotten through without you guys lifting me up. Love you all!

Thanks Guys
My chest still hurts, but I have really been uplifted by your love, acceptance and prayers. I even have a friend who can come live with me if something goes wrong. In any event, I have much more peace now about what is happening. I am going to go veggie for a few days in order to detox my system of the Claritin and see what happens. I love you guys more than you can possibly know. I was so terrified yesterday, the thought of having another stroke and being trapped inside my brain again is not a pleasant thought.

I Made It
Well, the week has passed and I made it out alive and sane (whatever that means!). Everyone is well, healing, older and some of us are sleep deprived, yet still happy. Even through all of this, I managed to get everything done that I wanted and a few more things than I planned on.
The Birthday Party was today and it was so awesome! Look for some pictures on my site in the next few days.
Thank you for all your prayers

Family Dealings – Continuation
Fear is not the tool that Father uses to draw us closer to Him. It is out of pure and unconditional love that draws us closer to Him. He uses the power of love that points out the good that we have in our hearts and always acknowledges that we are good in the worst of situations that we may find ourselves in. Never does He use guilt and manipulation to bring us to repentance.
Today I wrote my sister an email and Father showed me through a recent blog post I wrote that my sister is good even if her choices aren’t. I see now that I can love her without going along with her choices, but loving her in these unsettling and unknown times. As far as the future is concerned and what else will unravel in this, I ask that you continue to pray that Father will give me grace to love her more and more. Thank you again for such wonderful thoughts and encouragement. For through you, God whispers great things…
“If you speak, be sure it is love that moves you.” (Valorosa)

Update...
hey all,
I would vent on my blog, but it's not a good place right now... I don't want to be a burden I just need prayer. I know many of us are dealing with A LOT and my prayers are with you...
As for me- I'm just pretty angry. I feel like a terrible person for it. It's complex. Last night I threw water at my husband. ( he was being kind of a jerk) I just saw the cup there, full of water and it seemed perfect. It all happened so fast. He was mad... but then apologetic. I told him I couldn't talk to him anymore because I was afraid to throw other things.( I don't want to scare anyone... I don't normally throw stuff at people)
I think I'm just dealing with all the disappointment and mistreatment I received from people in the IC and some other issues. It has been very hard, I have been very low I have been physically feeling awful too. I need to work though this anger, somehow.
I'm too tired to explain more right now. I'll try to later
I was thankful that I got to sleep in today and I have another little while to myself, thank goodness. Anyone feeling so inclined, pray for me and my health. I ordered some nutritional support and supplements that should get here in less than a week hopefully. I need to take better care of myself for sure.
Thanks for being here for me to vent to- (I don't want advice but support is fine. I think I know what I need to do, it's just finding the strength...one step at a time)
