For those of you who are interested, I am thinking of posting happy birthday messages here. If you are interested forward me your birthdays and I'll keep track of them on my calendar and maybe try and find a way to put it into a widget.

LOL Nicole! November 2nd will be my 17th wedding anniversary!

I put on my Facebook so I guess I can put it here...December 29, 1970. I'll be 38 this year.

Ah man! I'm older than you Erin!

July 15, 1969. Yes, when I was born men still hadn't walked on the moon yet!

I'll hit 18 years of marriage on April 13 -- well, it was lucky for me, anyway ;)

Oh, now this is a trifle depressing...May 20, 1969.
I'm 39...older than the lot of you....oi.

Celebrating....well, not my wedding anniversary. Maybe celebrating that I'm finally walking in freedom? It hit me last night, after a discussion with some of the young girls at work, that being almost 40, free, and alot wiser was better than being young, beautiful, and incredible gullible.
Sorry, that may have come out kinda weird..just that all of those girls just had this "nothing can touch me cause I'm beautiful" attitude...nice girls, but I cringe at what life could throw at them.
Anyways, here's to good friends, and life well lived....

Well I'm older than all of you but you'll just have to wait until my birthday gets posted to find out when it is!! :P

Erin said...

Only one problem with that, Mike. You put it on your Facebook page. ;-)

Nicole said...

Ohh Erin, how awesome that is! Congrats on your anniversary!! We both will have to celebrate big that day! LOL!

I'm December 1, 1970. First day of summer, my favourite season. Happy days :)

Erin said...

Yes, Sue, I'd bet you never had a birthday party that was snowed out, LOL! How does the school year run down there? Did your birthday always fall during summer break? That was the upside to my birthday...I never had to go to school on it.

Mi cumpleanos es 8/5/73...
It's interesting thinking about the season it's in, cause in Argentina when I was little it was winter on my birthday, i had forgotten that...! Christmas was in the summer there... I think Australia and Argentina have the same seasons which would make sense since they are both in the southern hemisphere...hmmm : D

Hmm... I guess I'm older than you all. Probably even you, Mike. April 23, 1963. Yes, when I was born, Kennedy was president.

Only one problem with that, Mike. You put it on your Facebook page. ;-)

Oh yeah!!
*pouts*

Mike said...

Sue, you totally had me going. I was like, "summer?" and then I remembered where you are.

Por favor, confirme que su cumpleaños es 5 de agosto y 8 de mayo no porque no estoy seguro de si la fecha en la Argentina se escribe primero mes o día primero.

Sue said...

Erin, no, the school year always ended around about the 18th of December. When I was a kid we had six weeks holiday over christmas and summer. Those weeks stretched on forever ...

I also find it interesting thinking about the seasons. My birthday is April 8th so these days I celebrate in Australia's autumn. But because I was born in the UK I was actually born in spring.

Us Australians also don't worry about the equinox - just go with the 1st of the appropriate month.

My Birthday is 23rd November born in 1977.. I turn 31 urgh... My anniversary is i week before my birthday on the 16th so that my husband has no excuse to forget it..

Erin said...

Susan - Thanks for that, it makes a great deal more sense to me to make it the first of the month.

When Sue said that, I was thinking..."The solstice here is on about December 21st...maybe it falls on another date in the southern hemisphere?"

But that didn't make sense either...so thanks for clearing it up.

My birthday is Sept. 25 and I will be a really big number on my next birthday. I am not prepared, luckily its a year away.

Manuela said...

Mike, are you fluent in Spanish?! Buenisimo! Como aprendiste?
Mi cumple es el 5 the agosto!

...cool susan, so Argentina and Australia do share the same seasons! Probably South Africa does as well...?
We are an international/ multilingual bunch! That just rocks!! Anyone else fluent in another tongue, or anyone else a world traveler or from somewhere outside the US...?

Sue said...

You know, while we're on the subject of internationalism - we don't eat cookies here so I take umbrage with our slogan :)

Erin said...

Sue - Somehow the slogan "A safe place to have some Vegemite" doesn't quite have the same ring to it...

;-)

If you don't eat cookies, what DO you eat when you feel down?

My Birthday is Feb 24 1967 which was the year Canada celebrated its 100 birthday.

My husband and Mom-in-law have their birthday the day after mine so I always have to share.

Sue said...

Erin - sometimes I eat biscuits ;)

Or chocolate.

Or ice cream

But don't mind me, peoples, I'm just having a whinge :)

I learned it in school (a very long time ago) but I am now trying to retrain myself to use it again. It is as slow as I am slow but I get closer every day.

I had a little help with that last post because I couldn't remember all of the words.

All these children! My year is April 1956 ..... and I can use the computer :) I think I will skip the birthday bit though.

Jeannette Altes said...

Sue, I guarantee that any kitchen I spend much time in will have ice cream in the freezer and really good chocolate tucked away somewhere - both of which go great with coffee.

Sue said...

Yes, definitely, KG. I am way particular about my chocolate. Champagne tastes on water wages. I would rather have no chocolate at all and wait for the good stuff that you only need a few squares of 'cause it's so rich :) Mmm. 80% chocolate.

Have you seen Chocolat? Even without Johnny Depp it would have been delicious but I would be away with him on that boat before you could open your mouth to speak :)

Erin said...

Sue - I'm telling Keanu ;-)

Sue said...

Good. Tell him he can come too if he wants :)

Erin said...

LOL!

October 10th was Sixteen years of marriage

September 14 was forty years of life

Sue, I'll spend $4 on a chocolate bar or go without. (The average Hersey's goes for about 75 cents.) And anything you find tucked away, help yourself. One of my favorites is Green & Black's Mayan Gold. It's premium dark chocolate with an Aztec flair - cinnamon, nutmeg, and such mixed in.

Sue said...

OOOHHH :) When I next go to the supermarket, I'll get some of that to put in Rahab's Kitchen :) (Shall I put it in the fridge?)

Yum. We get Green & Blacks here & it's good stuff. I love the dark but I haven't had this one - but it sounds awesome :)

Jeannette Altes said...

Cool> I'm glad you can get it there. Sure, stock up. In the fridge is great, keeps longer. And by the way, the Mayan Gold would have... umm... well, a Mayan flair, not and Aztec one. o.O
